Sister M. Noretta Connor CSC, 73, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in her residence after an illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1919 in Chicago as Agnes Cecilia Connor. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Jan. 26, 1942; was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1941; and professed her final vows on Aug. 15, 1943. She was assigned to elementary teaching and taught at St. Joseph School, St. Patrick’s School and Holy Cross School, all in South Bend. Other assignments included Gary; Michigan City; Anderson, Ind.; Danville, Ill.; Harvard, Ill.; Woodstock, Ill.; Chicago; and Flint, Mich.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both at St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the convent parlors, where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
