Sister M. Marcella Connelly CSC, 76, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 7:45 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend. She was born Oct. 7, 1915 in Chicago. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on June 21, 1933; was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1934; and received her final vows Jan. 6, 1936. She was an elementary teacher in South Bend; Logansport, Ind.; Michigan City, East Chicago, Ind.; Cairo, Ill.; and Evergreen, Ill. She was assigned to pastoral services at St. Joseph Medical Center and religious superior at St. Mary’s Convent for the six years.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Christ the King Chapel at St. Mary’s Convent, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, also at St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
