Sister M. Augusta CSC, 90, died at 6
a.m. Wednesday after a lengthy illness. Born Mary Ann Conlon on
Sept. 9, 1889 in Shannon, Ireland, she entered the Congregation
of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Marys on May 3,
1919, coming from Roscommon, Ireland. She was received as a
novice on Jan. 6, 1920 and professed her final vows on Jan. 6,
1922. She served as an administrator to establishments of the
Holy Cross throughout the country, including orphanages in
Maryland and hospital in Illinois and Columbus, Ohio. She came to
St. Marys convent in 1971, where she resided until the time
of her death.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in the
Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Marys with internment
in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in
the convent parlors today and tomorrow. A wake will be observed
at 7 p.m. today.
