Friends of Sister Mary Joseffa CSC,
78, who died Tuesday in Saint Mary’s Convent. May call until
7 p.m. today at the convent parlor. The mass was offered today in
the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s College,
with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
She was born Julia Collins in Washington DC
in 1888. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy
Cross and received the habit in 1908, making her professional
vows in 1910. During her community life she was assigned to
missions in Salt Lake City, Utah; Baltimore; Lancaster, Pa.;
Washington DC; and St. Mary’s. She is survived by a niece
and several cousins.
