MISHAWAKA - Marguerite E. Collins, 89, of Elder Road, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday in Elkhart General Hospital. Mrs. Collins retired in 1963 from Penn-Harris-Madison School Corp. as a secretary at Elsie Rogers School. She was born Aug. 18, 1906, in Toronto.
On Nov. 8, 1930, in LaPorte, as Marguerite E. Phillips, she married Herbert D. Collins. He died in 1982. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Pozwilka of Elkhart; a son, H. David of Granger; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Phillips of Geneva, N.Y. A son, Robert E., died Jan. 20, 1979. She was a member of Willow Creek United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital for 13 years and with the American Red Cross for five years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
