SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Judith Coffey, CSC, 97, of Saint Mary's Convent, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in her residence. Sister M. Judith was born May 10, 1896, in Champaign, Ill., as Beatrice Genevieve Coffey.

She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on June 29, 1912; was received as a novice July 16, 1913; and professed her final vows Aug. 15, 1915. She was a music and voice teacher at Saint Mary's College from 1931 to 1948. Other teaching assignments include Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Maine, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. She was religious superior of Saint Mary's College from 1965 to 1969.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday in the church, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
