Mishawaka - Alfred A. Coesens, 58, of 427 E. 10th Street, who had been ill for the last six weeks, died at 10 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born in Mishawaka Sept. 28, 1906 and was a vetern of World War II. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Eugenia Coesens of Mishawaka; three sisters, Mrs. John Korpal, of South Bend, Sister Mary Cyril PHJC, Gary Ind. Mrs. Fabian L. Gerstbauer of South Bend, and one brother, Richard Coesens of York, Pa. Before his illness, he was a steelworker at the Dodge Mfg. Corp.
Friends may call in the Bent and Sprague Funeral Chapel from 7 p.m. Saturday and until the funeral services Monday in St. Bavos Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Cvaniga will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Coesens was a member of Mishawaka Lodge 1262 Loyal Order of the Moose, Aerie 2083, Fraternal Order of Eagles and River Park Post 303, American Legion, South Bend.
