SOUTH BEND - Services for Robert Cobb,
86, of 210 N. Wellington St., who died at 5:13 p.m. Thursday in
St. Joseph's Medical Center, will be at noon today in Layman
Chapel CME Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends
may call one hour before services in the church. Alford's
Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cobb retired as a
construction industry laborer. He was born Nov. 2, 1909, in
Jackson, Tenn. On
Sept. 1, 1928, in South Bend, he married
O'Brien Ingram. She died Oct. 9, 1993. He is survived by
two daughters, Alice Ivory and Lillian Cobb, both of South
Bend; a son, Robert E. Jr. of South Bend; 15 grandchildren; 33
great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a sister,
Geneva Richmond of Decatur, Ill.; and a brother, Hugh of
Decatur. He was a member of the church and Hod Carriers Local
615.
