Richard James Closson, 17, of Southwood Court, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, after an automobile accident.
Richard was born on Feb. 4, 1984, in Mishawaka, as the son of Rick and Sharon (Bruce) Closson, who both survive. Richard is also survived by three sisters, Andrea (Scott) Handley of Mishawaka, Kelly Closson of Jonesboro, Ark., and Jennifer Closson of Jonesboro; one brother, Jeff Closson of Jonesboro; two uncles, Jim Bruce and Mike Closson, both of South Bend, Ind.; two aunts, Becky Brehm of Mishawaka and Debbie Sallee of South Bend; his paternal grandmother, Corinne Closson of South Bend; his maternal grandfather, Richard L. Bruce of South Bend; and by nieces and nephews, Ashley and R. Allen Fannin Jr., Jordon and Jeffrey Closson Jr., Mark W. Jr. and Brenden Arrowsmith, and Gabrielle Handley.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 14, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, in the Hahn Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Richard's name to the charity of donor's choice, or to help with funeral expenses.
