Dolores A. Close

March 30, 1972 – July 1, 1993

Dolores A. Close, 66, of Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend, died at 11:55am Thursday in the nursing home after an illness.  Mrs. Close was a mold maker for Sobenite Plastic.

She was born March 30, 1927, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.  In 1947, in South Bend, as Dolores Podemski, she married Clayton R. Close.  He survives with two daughters, Doris Meixel of Mishawaka and Brenda Mell of SouthBend; a son, Clayton M. of South Bend; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Clara Rapalski, of South Bend and Rita Bogucki of North Liberty.  She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Services will be at 11am Monday in the church.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 6pm Sunday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a parish rosary will be said at 4pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
