Ellen (Jo) J. Clemans, 80, of Vistula
Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25,
2002, in Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind. Jo was born on
June 12, 1922, in White Plains, Ky., to Thomas and Zelma (Hanks)
Basham who both preceded her in death. Jo was also
preceded by one brother, Robert Basham in August 2002, and one
sister, Beatrice Springer. Jo retired from Uniroyal in
1971 after 30 years of service working in the fuel cells
department. She also worked at Bendix.
On March 28, 1953, in South Bend, Ind., as
Ellen J. Basham she married Wilburt (Bill) E. Clemans. Wilburt
preceded in 1957. Jo is survived by one son; Denny (Cathy)
Clemans of Elkhart, Ind.; one granddaughter, Denise Marie Clemans
of Elkhart, Ind.; one brother, Leroy Basham of Lakeville, Ind.;
two sisters, Dorothy Warner of Mishawaka, Ind., and
Abigail Doty and her husband Bill Doty Sr. of Mishawaka,
Ind.; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Basham of North Liberty,
Ind.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, Ind., where funeral services will take place Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002 at 10 a.m. Rev. Ervin Mize will officiate with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, Ind. Memorial contributions can made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Family & Children's Center.
