Sister M. Alice Clare CSC, 77, of St. Mary’s Convent died Saturday morning in the convent after a short illness. Born July 22, 1899 in Houston, Texas, she entered the Cfongregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Sept. 17, 1919, coming from Austin, Texas. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1920 and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1922. She was assigned to elementary and secondary schools as a teacher from 1921 until coming to St. Mary’s Convent in July. She taught in Texas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington DC.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, on the campus. Friends may call today and Monday in the convent parlors where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. today.
