SOUTH BEND - Thaddeus C. Cinal Sr., 83, passed away at
11:53 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007, after a family gathering
at Holy Family Parish Center. Ted was born on August 3, 1924, in
South Bend, to the late Stanley and Mary (Chmiel) Cinal,
and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was also preceded in
death by three brothers, Matt, Ed, and Bill.
Ted married Mary Jane Kasznia on
April 29, 1946. Mr. Cinal is survived by his wife, Mary Jane;
four sons, James (Terri) Cinal of Mishawaka, Kenneth (Beverly)
Cinal of Nipomo, CA, Thaddeus Cinal Jr. of South Bend and Greg
(Julie) Cinal of North Liberty; seven grandchildren, Jami Cinal
of Jacksonville, FL, Jennifer (Nick) Zizzo of Granger,
Christopher Cinal of Nipomo, CA, Phillip Cinal of South Bend, and
Jessica, Daniel and Joseph Cinal, all of North Liberty; two
great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Taylor Zizzo of Granger; a
sister, Theresa Zakowski of South Bend; and many nieces
and nephews.
Ted retied in 1984 as a supervisor after 20
years with AM General Corp. He was also employed by Studebaker
Corp. for 22 years. He enjoyed fishing at the lake cottage and
was a lifetime member of Crumstown Conservation Club. Ted was a
wonderful husband, father, and Dzia Dzia (Grandpa). Ted was an
important part of many lives and loved by all who knew him. He
will be dearly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be
from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S.
Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Lisa Cinal Scholarship Fund at
St. John the Baptist School.
