March 28, 1920-July 5, 1996 Veronica “Verna” Chudzicki, 76, of Portage Road, died Friday at 3:10 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Mrs. Chudzicki was born on March 28, 1920 in South Bend. She was a life long area resident. On June 4, 1938, as Veronica Klemczewski, she married Bert Chudzicki. Mr. Chudzicki died April 27, 1995. Surviving is a daughter, Sharon Bratton of Granger. Also surviving are six sons; James of Granger, Bert Jr., Larry, Joseph, Dennis, and Randy, all of South Bend. Other survivors include, 26 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Evelyn Wilkinson and Delores Wierzbicki, both of South Bend. Mrs. Chudzicki was preceded in death by a son, Robert Chudzicki, who died April 11, 1994, and by one grandson, Steven Chudzicki. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
