Theresa Chrzan, age 91, formally of Grant Road, South Bend, died at 9:15 p.m. at Saint Joseph Care West. She was born on October 4, 1911, in South Bend to John and Catherine Radecki, who preceded her in death.

On June 22, 1931, in South Bend she married Valentine Chrzan who preceded her in death, by a son Robert Chrzan and three sisters, Helen Chrzan, Genevieve Luc and Clara Hanyzewski.  She retired from the University of Notre Dame where she worked for several years. Surviving is a daughter, Carol and her husband, Robert Shultz of Roswell, Georgia. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Patricia Chrzan; grandchildren, Peggy Chrzan, Randy Chrzan of South Bend, Cheryl and husband George O'Neil, Joe and wife, Kathy Shultz and Tom Shultz, all of Georgia; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Chrzan of South Bend, Randy and Tully Shultz and Briana O'Neil of Georgia. Survivors include three sisters, Regina Fozo, Lucy and Florence Radecki; four brothers, Sylvester, Edward (Loretta), Roman (Dorothy) and Eugene Radecki, all of South Bend.

Visitation will be at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road on Sunday, December 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Monday, December 2, 2002, at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church. Theresa and her family were one of the earliest parishioners of Holy Family Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Church Building Fund.
