SOUTH BEND – Harriet M. “Hattie” Chodzinski, 86, passed away at 1pm on Thursday, October 25 in her residence.

Hattie was born on October 9, 1921, in South Bend, to the late John and Carrie (Litka) Machowiak.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

On July 10, 1943, Hattie married Harry Chodzinski.  He survives, along with their son, Donald E. (Jan) of South Bend; two grandchildren, Michele (Antar) Tiefert of Virginia and Gary Littler of Oregon; and two great grandchildren, Naomi and Abigail.  Hattie retired from RACO in 1992 after 47 years of service.  She was a parishioner at St Casimir Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8pm on Monday, October 29 in St Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, October 30 in St Casimir Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow at the Garden of Love Mausoleum at St Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
