Rose Chizar, 90, of Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle, Ind., formerly of North County Road 900 East, New Carlisle, passed away on Monday, April 8, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Chizar was born on Oct. 1, 1911, in South Bend, to the late Anton and Rosa (Molnar) Toth. She then moved to New Carlisle and lived most of her life there. Mrs. Chizar was also preceded in death by a son, Louis Chizar Jr. in 1971; and by a brother, Anton Toth in 1998.

On Sept. 10, 1932, in South Bend, as Rose Toth, she married Louis P. Chizar, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Rosemary (James E.) Loree of North Olmsted, Ohio; a son, Steven (Myrtle) Chizar of New Carlisle; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Vera McCagg of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 10, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Joyce Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery.
