Mr. Ernie A. Chism, 40, departed this
life at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22, in South Bend, Ind.
He was born on May 21, 1961, to Arvelia (Lee)
and Eldridge L. Chism Sr. in South Bend. He was preceded in death
by two brothers, Athan D. and Edward E. Mr. Chism was a lifelong
resident of South Bend. He graduated from Riley High School and
attended Purdue University. He was trained as a chef. He was an
employee of Famous Dave's Restaurant. He leaves to cherish his
fond memories his parents, Arvelia (Lee) and Eldridge L. Chism
Sr.; four sisters Armenda (Terry) Aikens and a stepsister,
Linda (Willie) Deberry, both of South Bend, Eldrena F. Adams
and Patricia Caldwell, both of Louisville, Ky., and Iva J.
(Mufu) Alison of Windsor, Conn.; four brothers, Eldridge
L. Jr. (Virginia) of Suffield, Conn., and Michael D., Lamont D.
Sr., and Talbert L., all of South Bend. He also leaves a beloved
fiance, Annetter Newbill, and a host of aunts, uncles,
nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Mr. Ernie A. Chism
will be held at noon today, April 26, in the Second Baptist
Church, 24828 Filmore Road, South Bend. Rev. Samuel Chase will
officiate services.
The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been
entrusted with funeral services.
