Funeral services
for Mrs. Marie E. Chilson, 48, of 1113 Miner St, will be at 2 pm
Friday in the Walsh-Bilancio Colonial Chapel 624 N. Notre Dame
Ave., with Rev. August D. Stork, pastor of Lowell Heights
Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph
Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call after 7 pm today in
the funeral home. Mrs. Chilson died at 10:45 am Tuesday in
St. Joseph Hospital after suffering a heart attack. She was
born in Midland, Mi, on Oct. 12, 1912 and had lived in South Bend
40 years, coming here from Midland. She was married in 1938
in South Bend to Woodruff Chilson, who survives. Also
surviving are her mother, Mrs. Lillian Gershow of Berkley, Mich;
a niece, Mrs. James Hammer of South Bend; five brothers, Henry,
Howard, Arthur and Harold Clark all of Detriot, and Henry Thorton
of Escanaba, Mich. and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Gowne of
Detriot and Mrs. Mrytle McLean and Mrs. Lottie Wenino, both of South
Bend.
