Edward Joseph Chikar, 84, of Angier,
N.C., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 11:46 a.m. on
Wednesday, July 21, in his residence. Mr. Chikar was a retired
frozen foods district sales manager, and was a World War II Army
Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Adeline (Earp)
Chikar; a brother, John Chikar of South Bend; a sister-in-law,
Anne Marie Chikar of South Bend; seven nieces, Georgeanne Whelan,
Barbara Modos, Mary Padlo, Kathie Chikar, Beth Jones,
Gela Newton and Leah Avery; four nephews, Leo Hoffman,
Joey Chikar, Dr. Roy Earp and Dr. Joe Earp; many great-nieces and
nephews; several great-great-nieces and nephews, and one
great-great-great-nephew. Edward was preceded in death by his
parents, Joseph and Catherine Chikar; a sister, Irene Hoffman;
and by two brothers, Joseph Chikar and George Chikar.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11
a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Highland Cemetery. The Zahoran
Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Ave., is handling arrangements.

Children Dispensary, 2015 W. Western Ave., Suite 233, South Bend,
IN 46629.
