Mary Ann Champion

Mary Ann Champion, 67, of Bowman Drive, Mishawaka, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at her residence after a brief illness. Mrs. Champion was employed at AEP retiring in 1994 after 40 years of service. She was born on March 19, 1935, in Montgomery, Mich., and has lived in Mishawaka for 45 years coming from Montgomery.

On October 4, 1957, in Angola, as Mary Ann Whitney, she married Jack J. Champion. He survives with two sons, Gregory S. (Deb) of South Bend and Bradley S. (Kim) of Elkhart, Ind.; one grandson, Mat; and a sister, Freda E. Wentzel. She was a member of the Delta Theta Chi Sorority.

Friends may visit at Chapel Hill Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Cancer Society of St. Joseph County or to St. Joseph Humane Society.
