SOUTH BEND - Mary M. Cencelewski, 95, of West Fisher Street, South Bend, Ind., died Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, in her home. She was born on July 20, 1901, in Poznan, Poland, and lived in South Bend most of her life.
On July 1, 1926, in South Bend, as Mary M. Kalka, she married Frank Cencelewski, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1972. She is survived by two sons, Bernard P. and Gerald J. Cencelewski, both of South Bend; four grandchildren, Wayne, Fred, Ken and Nathalia Cencelewski; five great-grandchildren, Cindy, Wayne, Jr., Lisa, Brittany and Sara Cencelewski; four sisters, Sally Kosek, Jean Jedrzejewski, Marie Szulczyk, all of South Bend, and Evelyn Feliss of Glendale, Ariz.; and a brother, Frank Kalka of South Bend.
Mrs. Cencelewski was a member of St. Casimir Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Senior Citizens and the St. Ann's Society, all of the church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a combined parish and senior citizens' rosary will be held at 2:30 p.m., and a family rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
