Sister Mary Gennaro CSC, 75, of St. Mary’s Convent died MondAY EVENING IN THE CONVENT. Dorn April 17, 1899, in South Bend, as Mary Celmer, she entered the Congegation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Jan. 6, 1916. She was received as a novice Aug. 4, 1916 and made her profession on Aug. 6. 1918. She was assigned housekeeping duties throughout her community life, serving both at St. Mary’s and provincial residences. She also served in convents in Fort Wayne, Michigan City, Utah, Pennsylvania and Illinois before retiring to St. Mary’s in 1967.

Friends may call Wednesday and until services Thursday in St. Mary’s Convent. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
