Mrs. Anna Louise Cavitt, 61, loving
mother, grandmother and sister, of Ewing Street, South Bend,
Ind., passed away after a brief illness at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday,
April 25, 1998. She was born to the union of Doff and Jenola (Jackson)
Johnson on Aug. 13, 1936, in Columbus, Ky.
In 1951, in Clinton, Ky., she married Lex
Cavitt, Jr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in
death by her daughter, LaWanda Ann Cavitt; and by her father,
Doff Johnson. She was employed by the Healing Arts Center of
South Bend. Mrs. Cavitt was a member of the Antioch Missionary
Baptist Church where she served as a nurse. Leaving to cherish
her memory are three daughters, Rose (Jerry) Reed, Grace
(Booker) Johnson and Deborah (Ronald) Taylor, all
of South Bend; two sons, Aaron Cavitt of Indianapolis, Ind., and
Nakia Herron of South Bend; eight grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren; her mother, Jenola Johnson of Clinton, Ky.;
two sisters, Hazel Litsey of Clinton, Ky., and Cynthia Arnoles;
and a brother, Charles Johnson of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be held at noon on
Saturday at St. Paul Bethel Baptist Church. Friends may call one
hour prior to services. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of
arrangements.
