MISHAWAKA - Josephine E. Casini, 73, of South Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at noon on Friday, April 25, in her residence. Mrs. Casini was born on March 19, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Magdalena Wieger of South Bend, Ind., and was a lifetime area resident.

On May 27, 1944, in St. Mary's Church, South Bend, she married Spartaco P. ''Sparky'' Casini, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Patricia (Mark) Van De Putte of Mishawaka; two sons, Spartaco P. (Kristin) Casini, Jr., of South Bend and Michael (Anne) Casini of Granger, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Angela Nooe, Dominic Casini, Gaberielle Casini, Lori Casini, Derek Casini, Ryan Van De Putte and Andrew Van De Putte; three sisters, Christine Szalay and Elizabeth Horvath, both of South Bend, and Theresa Majewski of Edwardsburg, Mich.; and by two brothers, William Wieger of Granger and James Wieger of Texas.

Mrs. Casini was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, the German Club of South Bend, the DFV Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the What-Its Club. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
