SOUTH BEND - Sarah L. Casey, 89, of 1436 Corby Blvd., died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in her home of natural causes. Mrs. Casey formerly worked in child care and for a catering service.

She was born Oct. 22, 1905, in Brownsville, Tenn., and lived in South Bend since 1935. On Oct. 7, 1938, in South Bend, she married Joseph S. Casey. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Irene Curry of South Bend; a foster daughter, Phyllis Buchanan of South Bend; two grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Casey was a member of the Parent Body and a matron of the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society, all of First AME Zion Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Clark's Funeral Chapel
