Josefa V. Carrillo, 84, of Kemble
Street, South Bend, Ind., died Wednesday, May 29, in the Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1918, in
San Marcos, Texas, and was the daughter of Juan and Longina (Montemayor)
Vera.
Josefa married Santos Carrillo, who preceded
her in death on May 5, 1960. She was also preceded in death by
two sons, Marcos V. Carrillo and Jose V. Carrillo; and by five
brothers and sisters, Ysac Vera, Domingo Vera, Cosme M. Vera,
Felipe Vera and Tanilo Vera. She is survived by five daughters,
Francisca C. Lopez, Bea V. Carrillo, Roberta C. Trujillo,
Zoila Carrillo of South Bend and Epi C. Botello of Donna,
Texas; two sons, Higinio Vera of San Antonio, Texas, and Domingo
V. Carrillo of South Bend; a sister, Juanita Alvarado; a brother,
Ramon Vera; and by 40 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and
two great-great-grandchildren. Josefa was a member of St.
Stephen's Catholic Church.
Family and friends called from 6 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, May 30, and may also call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, May
31, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where
there will be a Rosary said at 4 p.m. today. Services will be
held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, in St. Casimir Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
