Therese A. Carrico of South Bend died peacefully at home with her children gathered at her side.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1914 in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Anton J. and Caroline J. (Koshler) Zeithaml.
She married James A. Carrico on Nov. 21, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Francis F. Zeithaml, who died in 1989 and Karl, and her sisters, Julie and Anna who died in infancy.
Therese is survived by her four daughters, Maura (Paul) Sedgeman of Romulus, Mich., Margaret (Gregory) Schmitt of Green Bay, Wis., Mary Ann (Thomas) Padberg of South Bend and Marie (Joseph) Kerbleski of Midland, Mich.; her three sons, Michael J. Carrico and Mark J. (Theresa) Carrico, both of South Bend, and Matthew J. (Debbie) Carrico of Mount Vernon, Iowa; and by 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Therese was a member of St. Joseph County Right to Life and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Rosary Society.
Therese's family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, South Bend, with Fr. Thomas King, C.S.C., officiating.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
The family especially thanks Jean, Ellie and Brett from Hospice for the loving care given to their mother.
