Sarah Anna Carrico, 87, of Cleveland Road in Granger, Ind., passed away on Saturday, April 28, in her home.
Mrs. Carrico was born on April 13, 1914, in St. Francis, Ky., to the late William Louis and Sarah Florence (Thompson) Osborne, and had lived in South Bend since 1930. She retired from Greenwood's Thrifty Mart after many years of service.
Sarah married Francis R. Carrico, who preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, James L. Carrico in 1962, and by six brothers.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Louise Botkin of Holiday, Fla., Linda Sue (James) Delahanty of West Branch, Mich., Rita Ann Merrill of Granger, Ind., and Rebecca Wayman of Granger; two sons, Joseph P. (Becky) Carrico of Chicago, Ill., and Louis G. "Jerry" (Jan) Carrico of Mishawaka, Ind.; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and by four sisters, Irene Osborne, Celeste Cope and Rebecca Mattingly, all of Louisville, Ky., and Rose Mary Peterson of Loretta, Ky.
Mrs. Carrico was a member of St. Pius X Parish, the Women's Society of St. Pius X, and was a Eucharistic Minister for three years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. today, May 1, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 30, in the KANIEWSKI Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary was said at 7 p.m.
