LAKEVILLE - Ruth Eloise Carrico, 91, of 18882 Pierce Road, died at 1:25 p.m. Friday in Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton.

Mrs. Carrico retired in 1968 from Cassopolis School District after 20 years as an elementary school teacher.

She was born June 22, 1903, in Cass County, and had lived in Lakeville since 1934.

On April 7, 1934, in South Bend, as Ruth Eloise Truitt, she married Leonard A. Carrico. He died in 1961.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lou Lonergan of South Bend; three sons, John P. and Patrick A., both of South Bend, and Joseph W. of Wheeling, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Howard Truitt of Gobles, Mich. A grandchild preceded her in death. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, South Bend, and its Altar Society.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the church, 61568 U.S. 31 South.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Palmer Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m.
