SOUTH BEND - Gloria Ann Carr, 73, of South Bend, IN, was
unexpectedly taken from our hearts on November 24, 2009. She was
born March 17th, 1936, to the late Lloyd and Pauline Ostrander.
She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Riley
Aurora Pearson. Gloria is survived by a son, James (Linda) Rayl
of Mishawaka, and their children, Jeremy Rayl of Utah, Lindsay
Rayl of Mishawaka and Chris Milewski of Mishawaka; two daughters,
Michelle (Sinat) Svay of Friendswood, Texas, and their beautiful
daughters, Soria and Alanna, also of Texas, Kimberly Rayl and her
son, Christopher Rayl of South Bend; and one great-granddaughter,
Emily Rayl of Florida. One sister, Vicki Friedman of South Bend.
She graduated from Niles High School in 1953. She received a
bachelor's degree from Indiana University in general studies in
1982. Gloria was an owner-operator of many beauty salons in the
Michiana area; The Varsity Shop and Afterglo are just a couple.
She was deeply involved with the
American Cancer Society and particularly with the Look
Good Feel Better Program. Gloria enjoyed watching soaps, singing
with her sister Vicki, and making people happy. Family and
friends may visit on Monday, November 30th, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral
