SOUTH BEND - David Allen Carr, 48, of South Bend, passed away at 1:55 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008, in Memorial Hospital. David was born on April 21, 1960, to Norman and Margaret (Samson) Carr. He is survived by his fiancée, Judy Gill of South Bend; two sons, Matthew Carr of North Carolina and Gerrit Gill of Elkhart; two daughters, Brandy of North Carolina and Kim Gill of South Bend; five grandchildren, Cody, Thomas, Dakota, Mike and Brittany. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Carr of Elkhart; and two sisters, Sharon Davidson and Susan Stroder, both of Elkhart. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. He was honorably discharged in 1986. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He served as secretary and treasurer over the Crystal Valley Bass Masters. He placed in the top eight twice during the Indiana Bass Masters Tournament. He worked as a mechanic for Niles Bus Garage.
