Elvira Frances Caron, 68, of Buckskin
Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 11:40
a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mrs.
Caron was born on March 25, 1931, in South Bend, as the daughter
of the late Frank and Rosia (Faizo) Ruggieri.
As the former Frances Ruggieri, she
married Robert Caron. Mrs. Caron is survived by her three
daughters, Frances Michele Caron of Pompano Beach, Fla., Sabrina
Caron of South Bend, and Cheryle Schlarb of Woodland,
Ind.; a son, Robert A. Caron Jr. of South Bend; six
grandchildren, Naomi Young, Nadeen Young, Angela Wambaugh,
Taryn Caron, Robert Caron III and Robert Cooper; and two
great-grandchildren, Bryan Aker and Nadia Ann Young; a
sister, Mary Boettcher of South Bend; and by a brother,
Nick Ruggieri of South Bend.
Mrs. Caron was preceded in death by two
sisters, Diana Schofield in 1996, and Elizabeth Pridmore
in December, 1999. Mrs. Caron was employed by the University of
Notre Dame for 20 years in which she did not consider work
because of her love for the university and the people there.
There will be no visitation or services.
Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, is handling
arrangements.
