MISHAWAKA - Augusta Dujardin Carner, 85, passed away and now
rests in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus. She married Gerald
Edward Carner on September 17, 1949. She was a lifelong Mishawaka
resident before moving to Columbia City, Indiana, and spending
the past six years with her daughter, Denise, and husband, David
Heckman. Augusta was the daughter of Alberic and Irene Dujardin
of Mishawaka. Surviving relatives include a sister, Martha (Les)
Seggerman of South Bend; and two brothers, Walt (Sandy) Dujardin
of Elkhorn, WI, and Bert (Vi) Dujardin of Waukesha, WI. Augusta
had four children, Denise (David) Heckman of Columbia City, IN,
Steve Carner of Soldotna, AK, Nancy (George) Rambo of Elkhart,
IN, and Ron (Nancy) Carner of St. Augustine FL. She had 13
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren She was a loving and
dedicated mother, and there are no words to describe the love she
had towards her family and all she knew. Augusta and her siblings
loved performing music and were known as the "Fabulous
Dujardins." Music gave them all much joy and they played at
several area venues. Augusta worked for the Provincial House of
Holy Cross where she was a cook and housekeeper, and as a cashier
at Hook's Drug Store. However, her most important jobs were
raising her children, taking care of her family, and teaching
them the love of Jesus. Along with making some of the best
cookies, her hobbies included ceramics, baking, sewing, and
decorating cakes. In addition to her parents, preceding her in
death were her husband, Gerald Carner; brothers, James Dujardin
and Robert Dujardin; and sisters, Sido Whitbeck and Ida Dujardin;
and a great-grandson, Peyton Shoemaker-Bender. She will be
greatly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy will live on
forever in the hearts of all who loved her. Family and friends
may call on Wednesday, December 8, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505
