Mrs. Grace M. Carlton, 77, of 25304 U.S. 20, died at 1:40
a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital after an extended illness. she
was born on Oct. 2, 1899, in Kewanna, and had lived here most of
her life. On Nov. 6, 1921, in South Bend, she married Glen J.
Carlton, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs.
Eleanor Lewis of South Bend and Mrs. Armeda McDonald of Phoenix;
a son, Ralph of South Bend; nine grandchildren; three great
grandchildren, and a brother, Lee Toner of Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in
the Welsheimes Funeral Home, 521 N. William, where services will
be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Lamar L Imes, pastor of Mable Lane
United Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Carlton was a member, will
officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Mrs. Carlton
was a member of the Crumstom Home Economics Club.
