Glen J. Carlton, 86, of Phoenix, Ariz., a former resident
of South Bend, died in Phoenix Saturday following a sudden
illness. A retired employee of the I & M Electric Company in
South Bend, he was also employed by the South Bend Art Center.
Born July 18, 1895, in South Bend, he lived here until he moved
to Phoenix in 1978. On Nov. 6, 1921, in South Bend, he married
Grace M. Toner who died in 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Armeda McDonald of
Temple, Ariz., and Mrs. Eleanor Lewis of Port Richie, Fla.; a
son, Ralph of Muncie; nine grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in
the Hahns DeVos Funeral Home, Mishawaka.

Carlton-Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hahns
DeVos Funeral Home, Mishawaka, for Glen J. Carlton, 86, former
South Bend resident who died Saturday in Phoenix, Ariz. Rev.
Robert E. Priest of Maple Lane United Methodist Church will
officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home.
