David L. Carlin

March 25, 1933 – October 4, 1997

SOUTH BEND – David L. Carlin, 64, of 54866 Pear Road, South Bend IN, passed away at 2:45am on Saturday, October 4, in his brother’s home.

Mr. Carlin was born on March 25, 1933, in South Bend and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area.  Prior to living with his brother, he lived in Niles MI.

Mr. Carlin is survived by a daughter, Christine L. Waterbury of Thief River Falls MN; three sons, Thomas D. and Douglas E. Carlin, both of Elkhart IN and William L. Carlin of Mishawaka; two sisters, Kay Soule of Mishawaka and Beverly Raines, San Diego CA; and by two brothers, Richard W. Carlin of South Bend and Jerry V. Carlin of Mishawaka.

He was preceded in death by a son, David L. Carlin Jr., who passed away in 1984.

Visitation hours will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to9pm on Monday at Hanley & Son Funeral Home, located at State Road 23 and West Ireland Road, South Bend.

Funeral services will take place at 11am on Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Holloman officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St Joseph County Hospice.

Hanley & Sons Funeral Home is handling services and extends heartfelt sympathy to the Carlin family.
