SOUTH BEND - Ruth Ann Cannoot, 63, of South Bend, passed
away on Thursday, March 8, in her home. Ruth Ann was born on May
29, 1943, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of Frances and Evelyn (Krumanacher)
Scheibelhut. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son,
Donald in 1966.
On June 20, 1964, in Mishawaka, as the former Ruth Ann Scheibelhut, she married Richard Cannoot, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Susan L. Cannoot of South Bend and Kimberly Cannoot of Tickfaw, LA; two sons, Brian (Marcia) Cannoot and William Cannoot, both of South Bend; four grandchildren, Matthew Cannoot, Adam Ellis, Michael Cannoot and Ashley Hilebrand; three step-grandchildren, Kelly Tubbs, James Axell and Jonathan Axell; and two half brothers, Frances Scheibelhut Jr. and Robert (Delores) Scheibelhut, both of Mishawaka. Ruth Ann worked on the line at Remote Control in Mishawaka before she retired.
Family and friends may visit today, March 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 12, in the funeral home, with Rev. Barry England of St. Bavo Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth Ann's name to the American Diabetes Association, South Bend-Elkhart IN Office, 10872 Queen Road, Plymouth, IN 46563.
