GRANGER - Delores M. "Dee" Campbell, 77, of
Cleveland Road, Granger, passed away following an illness on
Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was
born Sept. 4, 1930, in South Bend, to George and Bessie (Morris)
Krovitch, who preceded her in death.
On November 9, 1957, in South Bend, she
married Tommie Campbell, who survives with five children, Thomas
(Kelly Harrington) Campbell, Joanna (Jay) Winter, Pamela
(Jerry) Piatt, Margaret (Bob) Edgerton and Kevin Campbell.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jeanna, Dylan, Patrick,
Kevin, April, Kayla, Neal, Cullen, Conor and Dorre; and three
step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kenny and Rachel. Mrs. Campbell is
also survived by a very special niece, Connie Gage. She
was preceded in death, along with her parents, by a brother,
George Krovitch Jr., and by a grandson, Bobby Simon.
Dee retired in 2005 after several years as a
teacher's aide at Swanson Elementary School in South Bend. She
was a member of the Auxiliary of the Avalon Grotto. She was
devoted to her husband, Tom, and they spent many wonderful
summers at their cabin in Manitoba, Canada, and at Deer Lake
where they enjoyed fishing with their grandchildren. She enjoyed
all the great outdoors had to offer, especially the swans in the
St. Joseph River. She loved her grandchildren, camping and her
cats.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society; or to the Shriner's Hospital, 2211 North Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707.
