Mateo Camarillo, 66, of South Warren Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jan. 7, 1934, in Houston, Texas, and lived in this area for 27 years. Mr. Camarillo was the owner of LaMexicana.

In 1967 he married Maria Sanchez, who preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 1995. He is survived by three daughters, Beatrice Moreno and Sylvia Salas, both of Marengo, Ill., and Brenda Roman of Arizona; four sons, Joseph Camarillo, Daniel Camarillo, Raymond Carmarillo and Alexander Camarillo, all of South Bend; and an adopted daughter, Jessica Galan of South Bend; six grandchildren; and by several brothers and sisters living in Texas.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, March 24, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Road. There will be no services. Visitation, services and burial for Mr. Camarillo will be held in Floresville, Texas. The Vinyard Funeral Home, 1011 4th Street, Floresville, is handling arrangements.
