Robert D. Calvin, 48, of West Catalpa
Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday,
Sept. 8, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. Robert was born
on June 22, 1951, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area
resident. He was employed as a truck driver by the Preston
Trucking Company. Robert was a member of St. Monica Catholic
Church, the American Legion Post #161, and was an Army veteran of
the Viet Nam War.
On Aug. 7, 1971, in South Bend, Robert
married Joan K. Banacki, who survives. He is also survived
by three sons, Benjamin J. and Jonathan M., both of Mishawaka,
and Joshua M. of Arizona; a sister, Malinda S. Choquette
of Osceola, Ind.; a brother, Richard L. Calvin of South Bend; and
his mother, Virginia Calvin of South Bend. Bob's love of nature
was evident through his garden, and his generosity was shown
through the many gifts he shared with his family and friends.
Bob's final gift of generosity was manifested through the
donation of his organs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in
St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Burial will be at Highland
Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street,
Mishawaka. A Rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. today in the
funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that
memorial contributions be made to the Indiana Organ Procurement
Organization, Inc., 429 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 201,
Indianapolis, IN 46204.
