Mrs. Charles Calvert

May 30, 1879 – December 24, 1968

Mrs. Bessie B. Calvert, 89, formerly of 439 Edgewater Dr., Mishawaka, died at 2:15pm Tuesday in the Dor-A-Lin Nursing Home after a five year illness.

She was born May 30, 1879 in Losantville IN and came here in 1902 from Indianapolis.  On May 30, 1902, in Indianapolis, she was a married to Col. Charles Calvert, who died in August 1965.  She is survived by three sons, Joseph W. of Park Forest IL; Hamilton E. of Niles, and Charles F. of Mexico City; a daughter, Mrs. Earle Straw, of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Friends may call after 4pm today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home where services will be held at 1pm Friday with Rev. Daniel Fowler, DD, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Burial will be in the City Cemetery.  She was a charter member of the Kiwanis Auxiliary, a member of the Mishawaka Woman’s Club and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 2.
