SOUTH BEND - Services for Wilbur A. Calkins, 75, of Orkney Drive, who died at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center after an illness, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Mishawaka.

Mr. Calkins retired in 1981 as a distributor for Continental Bakery Co. and was a former employee of Studebaker Corp. He was born March 8, 1919, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

In 1956, in South Bend, he married Jean Thompson Hoover. She survives with a stepson, Tom L. Hoover of Creve Coeur, Mo.; and a granddaughter. He was a veteran of World War II.
