U.B. Caldwell, 75, of 13479 Ind. 23, Granger, died at 6
a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of one year. He
was born in Quincy, Mich., on April 18, 1885 and had lived in
this area 50 years. On Sept. 30, 1913 in South Bend he married
Grace Remmo, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Vere
Caldwell of Granger and a brother, Duane Caldwell, of Hillsdale,
Mich. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Welsheimer
Funeral Home where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Re.
Arnold O. Schaap, pastor of the Granger Presbyterian Church, will
officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
He was a retired employee of the Studebaker-Packard Corp.

Granger, who died Sunday, will be August Haller, James Boles,
Ralph Heckaman, Onel Martin, Hobart Nevins and Clement Smith.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Welsheimer Funeral
Home.
