We can do no great things - only small things with great love.
Mother Teresa MISHAWAKA - Betty L. Calderone, 73, left this world
for her eternal life with God surrounded by her loving family.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother,
great-grandmother and a friend to all. She was born in Mishawaka
to the late Arthur and Josephine Soens. On September 29, 1956,
she married Joseph Calderone at St. Bavo Catholic Church. She is
survived by her husband, sister, Marge Penn, and brother, Joseph
Soens. She is also survived by her children, Joseph (Jill)
Calderone, Mary Beth (Jim) Aldrich, Rose (John) Mauro, Jerome
(Tania) Calderone, Virginia (Randy) Fras and Anna (Steve)
Winters; 18 grandchildren, Jamie, Christa, Ryann, Carrie, Clint,
Katie, Aaron, Tony, Virginia, Joey Rocco, Joseph Matthew, Dadyn,
Megan, Taylor, Chandler, Evan, Natalie and Emily; and three
great-grandchildren, Byron, Cecelia and Jordan. Betty lived in
the West End of Mishawaka and served others her entire life.
Whether it was serving her family, serving patrons at the West
End Bakery for 35 years or serving the Lord, her compassion,
kindness and smile touched the lives of many. Our Mother was a
beautiful woman and her soul will live on in the lives of her
family forever. Visitation for Betty will be on Wednesday,
December 23, from 2 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. in Hahn
Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 24, in
St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England
officiating. Entombment will follow in Fairview Cemetery
Mausoleum, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street,
