SOUTH BEND - Services for Shirley M. Buzolitz, formerly of S. 26th St., will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church. Her final resting place will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, next to her late beloved husband Joseph F. Buzolitz who passed away Sept. 13, 1995. Friends may pay their respects at the McGann Funeral Homes, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, near Ironwood, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., where there will be a Scripture Service at 5 p.m.
Shirley entered this life on a farm in St. Joseph County, Mich., and in South Bend, Ind., at St. Paul's Retirement Center, at the age of 72, she was born to eternal life. Her father was Este M. Carter and her mother was Florence V. (Smyser) Carter. Mrs. Buzolitz came to South Bend in 1942, from St. Joseph County, Mich. She will be missed by her friends and family that are left behind which include her loving daughter Carol A. Santee and her son-in-law, Jim Santee, both of Cary, Ill.; and two brothers, Dr. Jim Carter of Lafayette, Ind. and Richard Carter of Detroit, Mich.
Having spent most of her working life as a Domestic Engineer, she always found time to volunteer her talents to the less fortunate including 22 years of taking hot food to shut-ins through the Meals on Wheels and Dial-A-Care programs. Always very involved in her church she played the organ for 11 years and was a member of the Padre Pio Prayer Group at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. More recently she was an active member of St. Anthony's where she served as a Eucharistic Minister serving others in the parish. She found enjoyment through her membership in the Hedman Organ Society. Memorial donations would be appreciated, and can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
