SOUTH BEND - Waynette V. Butts, 72, of 1052 Patty Lane, died at 4 p.m. Saturday in her home after an illness. Mrs. Butts was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Somerset County, Pa., and moved to South Bend in 1939. Surviving are a daughter, Sherl A. Smith of South Bend; two sons, Robert E. of Mishawaka and Ross F. of South Bend; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
