Doris Maye Butts, 86, of 4248 Wimbleton Court, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, where she had been a patient for 10 days. Mrs. Butts was born May 12, 1918, in Watkins, Ohio, to Albert Clark and Franke (Wilkins) Evans.

She married Clemence N. Butts on July 15, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, he passed away on Feb. 26, 2001. She is survived by a son, Charles Steven (Rosita Pinkerton) Butts of Kaneohe, Hawaii; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Joyce) Leatherman of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Cole of Viola, Ark., and Mrs. Steve (Karen) Renner of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Butts was a homemaker and a member of Walnut Grove Chapel, Indianapolis.

Friends may call from 8:30 to 9 a.m. today, Aug. 28, in Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa, where services will be at 9 a.m. Charles Stephen Butts will officiate. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis. Memorials may be given to "Back to the Bible" Broadcast.
