NEW CARLISLE - Frank E. Burnett, 88, of New Carlisle,
Indiana, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at 4:03 P.M. in
Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. A Celebration of
Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Sept. 10,
2008, in the Cutler Funeral Home, with Rev. Kevin Galloway. There
will be a time of visitation with the family on Tuesday, Sept. 9,
2008, from 3 to 8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9 to 10 A.M. in the
funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in
Michigan City. There will be a full military service at the
cemetery.
Frank was born April 22, 1920, in Michigan
City, to the late Corby and Florence (Teets) Burnett. He
was married on June 23, 1943, in Port Allen, LA, to Lillian A. Picard,
who preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2002 Survivors include a
daughter, Roberta (Charles) Baxley of LaPorte; three sons,
Owen (Lynn) Freeman of Marlow, OK, Frank (Osa) Burnett Jr. of
Michigan City and Lonnie (Gail) Burnett of New Carlisle, IN; 18
grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois of Mishawaka; and a
brother, Robert (Beverly) of Michigan City. He was preceded in
death by his parents, a brother and two sisters, Kenneth, Maxine
and Tressie. He was a retired truck driver, a technical sergeant
Army Air Force veteran of WW II, American Legion Post #297 of New
Carlisle, loved fishing and gardening, NASCAR, the Chicago Bears
and the Cubs. Memorial donations may be made to American Legion
