Mrs. Elizabeth Burkus

February 22, 1887 – April 14, 1963

Mrs. Elizabeth Burkus, 76, of 2021 Catalpa St., died of an apparent heart attack about 6am Sunday in her home.  The body was found by William Burkus, a son, when he arrived at the home shortly before 11am.

She was born on February 22, 1887, in Hungary and came to this country 55 years ago.  Her husband, Paul Burkus, died on June 17, 1942.  She is survived by four sons, Paul and Joseph, both of North Liberty, Eugene and William, both of SouthBend; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Ames of Mishawaka and Mrs. Kathleen Biggins of Plymouth; 13 granchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother in Hungary.

Friends may call after 7pm today at the Zahoran Funeral Home.  Mrs. Burkus was a member of the William Penn Assn.
